Stats just out: JWs in Wales decline (-3.4%) - COs primed for zero baptisms!

figures from that latest 2-weekend convention in caridff (wales) reveal jw “growth” now in decline.

baptisms are discouragingly low (21, combined), and circuit overseers have been primed to deal with assemblies where there are no baptisms; see these leaked 2018 instructions:.

Bola, Well done for waking up early in life and learning TTATT!

It's always difficult for anyone to exit the JW cult and clearly you are suffering. You must be in your early twenties and therefore an adult. This means that you can decide for yourself what you do. Would I be right in thinking you are still at home and therefore feel bound to do what your parents ask you?

I think it would be good if you could expand a bit on your situation so that we can help you. You're at college but dependent financially on JW parents?

One of the big problems with having been a JW is that our sense of self was very distorted, What we did was let an organisation dictate who we were, what we should do and how we should think AAAAARG! ...........instead of being ourselves.

To do anything outside of the old religion requires that we learn who we are first.

There was a limited feeling of security being a drone within the hive but successful humans never live this way, we have free will, which we were deprived of and a right to determine what we want to do and a right to be who we want to be.

The reason I say this is because having been used to rules for everything, it takes time and thought to get free of those enslaving beliefs courtesy of the Watchtower.The fact is that it is our birthright to make up our own rules.

Nevertheless all humans live in societies where we share a collective custom of how we do things which is called morality.

So .........1 find out who you are

2 set your own boundaries

3 be yourself.

Dating should be fun!

Special Day of Service be a Pioneer for a Day

my wife's kingdumb haul announced that next saturday is a special day of service.

we can pioneer for a day in seldom worked territory.

everone is to pack a nice brown bag lunch.

It's dressing up the unappealing idea of witnessing door to door as is if it were a jolly social event.

Why bother? No one's interested in listening to JWs anymore.........just have the picnic!

Letty you poor thing, whatever has happened it's not your fault, don't blame yourself! You had the misfortune to belong to a highly controlling cult. The JW organisation does not care about people it cares imposing its will on its unthinking flock (mainly it cares about its investment funds).

The elders were disgusting putting you through that and quite unnecessarily. What does count is your wellbeing and your future.You have the promise of a good job which is excellent and you should work to become financially independent, you are an adult even though your parents think you are not.

How were God’s true worshipers to determine virginity of pagan girls?

in the genocidal instructions supposedly given by god we find this interesting command: “now kill all the boys.

and kill every woman who has slept with a man, but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.” (numbers 31:17, 18).

in the midst of killing and plundering, how were the israelites to determine whether each girl “has slept with a man” or not?.

At the time of writing Numbers, the Jews, just like most of their neighbours were Iron Age peasants living a simple desert life using social values which favoured patriarchy. The archaeology of Israel seems to indicate that their material culture was rather behind the times in its primitiveness.

The fact that these objectionable regulations were projected on to their Idol Yahweh just shows how the prevailing human mores were used to describe their totemic god. If a compassionate and all powerful intelligent god truly existed, surely he would have enlightened them with more compassionate and intelligent ideas? But no, the Bible only reflects the contemporary base human values of perpetual warfare and territorial gain, men first and girls as commodities, slaughter all those who don't believe in your god. The Bible is uninspired.

Why go back to the Old Testament?

why do jws insist on still quoting from the old testament to back up some of their wacky ideas?

such as on blood, beards, abortion, tattoos, etc.

surely if the mosaic law code was nailed to the torture stake all of its parts were cancelled.

It is because most people in history, those not in authority, were illiterate so that those who could write told the peasants that their written word was sacred...........what a con trick!

For example who says that the law was hung on the torture stake?

Well it was written by the leaders of the early Jesus cult which was in the process of adopting and adapting all forms of religious belief to create is own orthodoxy. This included apostate Jews who had fallen for the latest "Christ" story fictions, by bishops who wanted numerical support for their movement--because more members made for more money in the coffers and lots of money meant political power.

Remember that the early Christians met not only in houses but in temples and used exactly the same hierarchical orders and religious organisational methods as the groups who were later to be condemned by the RC Church as "pagans". The Bible gives an extreme partisan view of Christian events in the early centuries including a conjectured account of the Christ hero, magical happenings and a sanitised account of its own history with the emphasis on divine blessing for itself and a bunch of failed prophecies.

The legacy of which is a devilish distortion of reality in the minds of millions right up until now!
